At Tilbury Douglas, Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to the highest standards and have a target of zero accidents. We are fully committed to showing exemplary standards and leadership throughout the sector.
We foster a proactive safety culture across our business and strive to make sure our employees, contractors, and the people who work with or alongside us, can carry out their work in the safest way possible.
We have set targets for accident reduction on our sites and we aim to continually increase the number of site inspections by senior management. We have also introduced industry-leading health surveillance for our employees, including those whose health may be affected by their work.
Our approach to health and safety management is fully supported by our Health and Safety policy statement.
Formal safety management systems continue to be implemented across our operations. These systems are specific to each business and operation and provide appropriate guidance to deal with the range of risks encountered by our employees.
Proactive management of health and safety is delivered with programmes of health and safety competence and awareness training delivered by our in-house teams and external providers.
Our managers deliver health and safety on sites and are supported by a team of full-time health and safety professionals including specialists in occupational health and well-being.
Employees receive full health and safety training and we have a proactive culture where and health safety issues are robustly addressed.
